What are VOC's basic biblical beliefs?
We encourage you to visit our main website to review our Belief Statement in detail

What makes this retreat different from others?
The majority of Christian writer's retreats and conferences focus almost exclusively on the developing talent and skill. While this is important and needed, Voices of Christ focuses exclusively on helping believers develop a heart of God's Kingdom.

We believe that it is important for every believer to be grounded in the word of God and to have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ FIRST - not later. Once relationship exists and the foundation is solid, the believer can then go forth in his/her calling to be effective in the Kingdom without concern for popularity, entertainment or other goals that promote self instead of the gospel.

We believe a lifestyle built on Godly character and integrity is far better, than a lifestyle built on talent and skill, and personal success. A balanced believer is an effective believer in the Kingdom of God. As a result, others who need to hear the gospel message will not be misled or presented a false picture of Christ.

How do you choose presenters and speakers?

Our presenters and speakers are in close fellowship with Voices of Christ. By close fellowship, I mean that we have - on more than one occasion - prayed together, studied the word together and shared our hearts with one another concerning God's Kingdom and his purposes for his people. We also hate the things God hates, and loves the things God loves. We were divinely connected by God at some point in our walk in  Christ -- and God did the rest.

In other words, we know those who labor among us.

What is the overall purpose of this retreat?

Honestly, VOC operates under a mandate by God to assist in cultivating the " scribal ministry" inside the heart of the scribe - not the gift. The gift is from God. The gift comes without repentance; but it takes time and experience to walk in godly wisdom in ministry. VOC is simply a part of that process. This is who we are and what we do. All of our retreats, workshops, teleconferences and other activities has this single goal in mind.

What "ministry background" or "denomination" does VOC support?

VOC's ministry background is simply rooted in the bible - the Old and New Testaments. First and foremost we believe in the ministry of Jesus Christ with Christ being the ONLY WAY to heaven. We are "nondenominational." VOC members come from all walks of life and denominations. Our common thread, however, is our belief in the life, teachings and ministry of Jesus Christ as revealed from Genesis to Revelations.

Is the Christian Prophetic Writer's Retreat an annual event?

No. We only hold the retreat at the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Currently, we do not know when the next retreat will be held.

Do you offer other workshops and classes throughout the year?

Yes. At VOC National Headquarters in Atlanta, we host classes at multiple times throughout the year at book stores and local venues. Through The Scribal Anointing Online Mentoring Group, we also offer Tele-Conferences and Classes for free. These classes, however, are generally introductory in nature.

Beginning in January 2008, we will be offering classes regionally though chapters located around the United States.
