Christian Prophetic Poetry Writer's Retreat: The End of the Age
at
The Calvin Center, a year-round Camp and Conference Center
operated by the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta. The Calvin Center provides a place for people of all
ages to respond to the ministry and person of Jesus Christ and
to grow in their relationship with God.
The Calvin Center serves as the home for scores of church,
nonprofit, and civic group meetings as well as individuals and
camp participants. Located just twenty five miles south of
Atlanta's Hartsfield airport, on over 500 tree filled acres.
This is the perfect location for a
retreat. You will enjoy relaxation, spiritual revitalization and
recreation free of worldly distractions and close to nature.
Rooms & Accommodations:
Retreat participants will stay in cozy cabins with access to
hiking, fishing, horseback riding, archery, hay rides, swimming
other optional outside activities. This is the PERFECT setting for true writers get-a-way to concentrate on their ministry and
purpose in Christ.
PLEASE
NOTE: We will be staying in the Hicks Lodge, an air
conditioned facility, at the Calvin Center in Hampton, Georgia.
Please be sure to bring your bible, a notebook, personal
toiletries, a sleeping bag or linens and a pillow. Wireless
connectivity is available at certain locations on the campus for
those bringing laptops.
DIRECTIONS
FROM THE ATLANTA AIRPORT:
The Calvin Center is located in
Clayton County, Hampton, Georgia, 45 minutes south of Downtown Atlanta,
and 25 miles south of the Atlanta Airport.
Coming from the North:
Take 1-75 south of Atlanta to Exit 235. This will be the exit
for Highways 19 & 41 and will be heading towards Griffin. (This
road is also called Tara Blvd.) Go about 15 miles south on Hwy.
19/41 to a street light. Turn right on to Upper Woolsey Road.
(If you come to the Atlanta Motor Speedway you have gone too
far.) We are located about 5 miles on the left.
Coming from the South on 1-85:
Exit at Hwy. 34 (this will be the Newnan-Peachtree City exit).
Follow Hwy. 34 to Hwy. 54 and follow signs to Fayetteville. In
Fayetteville, take GA Hwy. 85 south to Hwy 92 South. Go to
Woolsey and turn left on Hampton Road at the Chevron Station. We
are about 3 miles on the right.
Coming from the South on 1-75:
Take 1-75 north to Exit 218. Turn left on to Hwy. 20 west. Just
over the interstate turn right onto Hwy. 81. Follow Hwy. 81 all
the way to Hwy. 19/41 (about 8 miles and after a zigzag in the
road). Cross Hwy. 19/41. Road changes name to Upper Woolsey
Road. We are about 5 miles on left.
