I've really been seeking God concerning his scribes and the use of the
"true scribal ministry" in the church. My heart cries out for those of
you who have been OR are being cast aside or overlooked in reference to
your gift. But I really believe God has a greater purpose and a wider
message he desires to birth inside you.
Today, as I read a couple of messages on the list, I heard this in my
spirit so strongly: "You can't wait on the church to use you ...."
Let me explain. The institution of the "church" that we have grown
accustomed to causes us to believe - within our intellect - that our
gifts must be used in and validated by our local church or our local
leaders.
I want to be VERY CLEAR here before going further: God ordained
the local church and every believer should be a part of one - no matter
what level they are at spiritually ... as our spirits are constantly in
need of spiritual food AND accountability. But for many reasons, not all
of us can move or operate in that church the way God wants us to move an
operate. We may not like it; but earnestly, it may not be something that
particular pastor wants to embark upon at that particular time ... and,
yes, that is okay. It doesn't make them poor pastors or leaders, or
anything. It just means that they may lack the understanding in some way
concerning what you feel led to do OR the vision that you have just may
not line up with the course of the vision they have been given by God at
that particular point. These differences are okay ... because in
the end ... the burden to move forward in your gifting is not on "the
church" ... it is on you. The best thing you can do is to go to that
church to "be fed" and to "help under gird" the vision God has placed
you under as a sheep. Always remember, you are in church first and
foremost to serve and to learn.
We must insure that we are obedient to godly authority. As we are
obedient in one area, God will release us to move in other areas.
"Every believer should use whatever gift he has received to serve
others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms."-- 1
Peter 4:10
It's hard sometimes, to sit and worship in a place where you feel
rejected, ignored and/or under used. God is looking at how you are going
to respond to that situation or circumstance. He is MATURING YOU.
Instead of turning inward, turn it into a stepping stone that pushes you
forward instead of backwards.
There have been instances where ministries exist in churches -- but
because of clicks - gifted believers are intentionally overlooked or
excluded. I know this may not make sense, but ENDURE it -- until the
love of God pours from you like rain. In all things, SEEK THE FACE OF
GOD. Don't move without his direction. Release the bitterness and get to
a place of forgiveness -- as fast as you can.
Otherwise, these "feelings" will slip in and SHUT YOUR MINISTRY DOWN!
Satan will have gained a foothold ... and will then begin to cause you
to question your self worth and your call --- TOO MANY BELIEVERS HAVE
ALLOWED THIS TO HAPPEN TO THEM! You will end up thinking that that your
"church" leadership must validate your gift. I urge you to always
remember that if God gave you something, then it has ALREADY been
validated.
I beg you to stand up for yourself and fight for the ministry inside you
by LOOKING TO GOD for instruction and direction. On the same note ...
there's a whole lot of blood on the hands of God's people -those who
have killed the spirit of eager servants. But guess what, in the end ...
that's still God's issue - not yours.
For those who don't know how, God is saying ...step out. Take a chance
on him. Let him show himself faithful to you! If your gift is not
readily excepted at home or at your local church, share it at work or
via email with a few friends. God does everything little by little. Let
him unveil the purpose for the scribal ministry on the inside of you.
Let HIM make it happen, don't try to make it happen yourself.
Begin attending literary events in your local community or beyond.
Contact your local recreation department and find out what, if any,
literary events they have on tap for the year. Look into your local
schools, senior centers, and after school programs for volunteer
opportunities. These groups are always looking for people to help them
out.
God has called you! Let HIM affirm you! He has caused you to something
so much larger than the walls of a building. But until you see it, God
can't move. We can no longer worry about what others are doing or where
they are going. Our focus must move from man to the the Father.
