In a field
stood an army of fruit trees.
While some were bitterly twisted, others suffered disease.
Many
complained that their life had no purpose,
Some of those believed they were living under a curse.
Still others put their hopes in the stars above,
Forgetting about the One Who was their first love.
A melody could be heard in one corner of the field
Where very few lay hold the Truth and experienced being healed.
The song was warm and inviting, destroying the singers’ fears,
Unfortunately though, the song went forth and fell on deaf ears.
Too many trees dipped their roots deeper into the earth’s crust,
Delving into selfish thoughts of pride and greed and lust.
The majority of the army turned one against the other,
Fathers turned against sons and daughters waged war on their
mothers.
Fortunately in the hearts of a few the truth of the Saviour’s
life did yield,
Those few soldiers’ knew Jesus Christ as their Lord; their
strength and their shield.
As fire consumes whatever it lights burning everything it
touches to the ground,
So the Word of God consumed those willing to listen
Breaking chains where prisoners had been bound.
Although the majority still would ignore the Holy Spirit,
Knocking at the door of their hearts,
Being too deceived by religions worldwide
Having succumbed to Satan’s poisonous darts.
There were those still who went forth declaring the name of the
Lord,
A shield in one hand, in the other a sword.
Determined to help others turn from their bitterness and hate,
Before the Day of the Lord be upon them and then it would be too
late.
Peace followed these fruit trees where ever they would go,
As the hearts of many turned back to the Lord and the Holy
Spirit flowed.
But for too many trees it was already too late
Their destiny had already been sealed,
This was the story of an army of fruit trees
Who had been planted together in a field.
Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
Mat 13:4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and
the fowls came and devoured them up:
Mat 13:5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not
much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no
deepness of earth:
Mat 13:6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and
because they had no root, they withered away.
Mat 13:7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns
sprung up, and choked them:
Mat 13:8 But other fell into good ground, and brought
forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some
thirtyfold.
Mat 13:9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
