I Love Nothing More
Than God
By Sharon Holliday
Durham, North Carolina

I love nothing more than God
What he has for me is good
What he does for me is good
What he is to me is good

What is there not to love?
He Himself is good.
God is love.

He pleases my entire being
I thirst to drink from His fountain
He has plenty to give to me
He calls me early in the morning,
Subtle mid-day kisses of life’s sweetness
Reminds me that he is with me.
In evening moonlight
My soul pants and He hold me as I
Slip into a peaceful rest in His arms.
And when the morning comes just before dawn
He invites me to dine at the breakfast
Nook
I sit,
My spiritual belly if filled
I am blessed to be a blessing on each path I take.

When I leave his presence
He open doors that
His light may eliminate from me to expose the
The darkness wherever I go.

From my belly
Words of encouragement flow
My purpose is only Him
No matter where I am
Even when my paths seem stony
I am here by His authority
I do His will and He takes care of me
I am worriless.

My mind is engulf with pleasure to serve you
I feel your gesture like a wink of a proud Father
You are pleased as I choose to obey your commands

Someone called me because they needed you in the flesh
So I obeyed you and yielded
You stirred the gifts and changed defeat to victory
One word spoken in season
Meeting the need
I love nothing more than God
What is there not to love?
He is love to us all.
And being there for a friend
Reassures them of His goodness
And His promise He will never forsake them
I know they see you when I stand
They see they can make it too
Right in the midst of storms and trials
I decided to smile because
My soul is satisfied
I have obeyed
I choose to keep my head up
In that I can’t see defeat
For God so loves me
He gave His Son
All my enemies, He defeats
So I love nothing more than God.
