Kingdom Greetings!
It is with great excitement and joy that I greet you! Over the past
few months, Voices of Christ Literary Ministries International has
undergone some significant changes by the guidance of the Holy
Spirit. I tell you, it hasn't been easy, but we are back and
stronger than we have ever been before. First, I'd like to thank
each and everyone of you for your prayers and support over the
years.
For those who have been wondering what's REALLY going on, here's the
overview in bulleted form:
-
What
happened to the poetry team? The ministry has matured
intensely since the birth of the Voices of Christ Prophetic
Poetry Team in 2000. We moved from being an evangelistic team of
traveling poets, psalmists and spoken word artists into a
ministry that has been uniquely set apart by God to mentor and
equip His creative prophetic scribes -- with a special focus on
poetry and spoken word - for the radical work of the ministry. (About
VOC)
-
Voices of Christ
Today.
We now have chapters emerging
across the US. Each chapter draws on the unique makeup of its
leadership and the needs of its members to provide ministry
opportunities, community outreach, individual and corporate
mentoring to scribes in those regions. Our focus, however, is
going into those places that are often "overlooked" by poets,
spoken word artists, and other creative writers today. Our goal
is to bring Jesus to those who are in desperate need of hope.
While opportunities to minister at open mics or by invitation to
other events still continue to come, we are pressed by God to
equip a generation of end-time scribal warriors who are SOLD OUT
for the gospel and unashamed of their Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ. (Local
Chapters)
-
We now offer regional prophetic
writing intensives and other workshops for Christian
writers. Beginning this spring, we will be hosting them in the
regions where we have chapters, and then at other locations by
invitation. In addition, we regularly host free tele-classes
through our online mentoring group:
The Scribal Anointing. We are also heavily in the planning
stages for the 2009 Christian Prophetic Poet & Writer's Retreat:
The Birthing of a Scribal Nation!
-
In addition, we
introducing multiple ways to assist prophetic poets and writers
with getting their message out to those who need to hear
what they have written. We are currently doing this through our
new magazine, Esdra's Scroll, and our ongoing broadcast,
SPOKEN: In praise, poetry & spoken word, which airs
weekly on The Praise
House. We are constantly in the market for literary
submissions and artwork for the magazine, as well as
opportunities to interview guests on the broadcast.
-
Prophetic Writing
Articles & Scribal Prophecy. Voices of Christ regularly
posts articles on
prophetic writing as well as
prophetic words that are critical and relevant to your
literary ministry in this season. These articles and words of
direction will speak to your destiny and purpose while igniting
a fire in your belly! Even now, we are seeing many of the words
spoken come to pass, and multiple words of confirmation are
coming forth. Other resources are being birth as well! Check out
our recent book releases.
-
Our online
mentoring and networking group,
The
Scribal Anointing, is growing daily. For those writers who
are unable to connect with us on a local level, can join this
group free and meet poets from around the world. Here we
fellowship, share our challenges (highs and lows), discuss
trends, share relevant news, hold one another accountable, speak
into one another's lives ... and most importantly exalt the name
of Jesus Christ. Here you can also interact with all of the VOC
directors as well as the founder. We have tons of fun here!
Truly, there is no other group of believers like us on the net.
If you're considering joining a chapter on a local level -- this
is the perfect place to start. Membership in The Scribal
Anointing online group is free!
Voices of Christ focuses
on the individual writer. We take a personal interest in where you
are and where you would like to be in your scribal walk with the
Lord. We have some EXCITING EVENTS coming up this year including two
POWERFUL open mics! I do hope you will be apart.
To learn more about us, please don't hesitate to contact the
ministry using the information provided at the bottom of this page.
This year, the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be
exalted like never before! Truly, our hearts are set on the HIGH
PRIZE that is in Christ Jesus. It is our desire that we be found IN
him.
May the peace and blessings of God, and the Scribal Anointing
overtake you!
Kingdom Blessings,
Prophetess Theresa Johnson

Call For Submissions: Seeking Testimonies |
|
The
second issue of Esdras' Scroll is scheduled to debut on
Saturday, March 15, 2008. Currently, we are adding a
second section to the Christian Creative Magazine
entitled, "Testimonies." We are currently seeking essays
between 800-1,500 words that describe testimonies and
miracles in the lives of believers with disabilities.
The testimony must clearly speak to the miracle power of
Jesus Christ, and encourage, educate or move others to
action. They must be relevant to our society and provide
solutions for the body of Christ. Clearly define the
disability, the challenges and how the challenges were
transformed into personal miracles. Feel free to include
relevant photos in addition to your photo (if available)
and a brief bio. True stories only please.
Please feel free to include statistics, supporting
materials, links, etc. on a separate page if you are
unable to incorporate this into your essay. Please be
creative in nature. We are not looking for mini
sermons, but testimonies that draw the reader into your
circumstance and then to the Lord. Send your essays
to
submissions@voicesofchrist.org, subject:
DISabilities. The deadline is
Thursday, Feb. 28. Deadline extended for
these submissions. These essays will appear in the March
issue. Reprints okay.
